Rep. Melanie Stansbury, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Mexico’s 1st district, has recently taken to social media to express her concerns and legislative actions. Known for her advocacy and active participation in political discourse, Rep. Stansbury continues to address significant issues through her platform.

On February 10, 2025, Rep. Stansbury questioned certain actions she believes circumvent standard legal procedures: "Why are they breaking the law and testing the system? Because they know the American people would reject this. And they can’t do it using a regular order process. This is why we must fight back and continue to hold them accountable."

Later that day, she announced a legislative initiative: "ICYMI: I introduced the Nobody Elected Elon Musk Act last Friday. This bill would ensure that Elon Musk and DOGE Special Employees will be held accountable for their reckless and illegal actions. The American people should not be left to foot the bill." This proposed bill aims to address accountability for individuals such as Elon Musk.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Stansbury called on New Mexicans for support against what she describes as adversarial influences: "New Mexico: we have your backs in this fight against Trump and his billionaire friends. But we need you to continue to make noise and share your stories. This fight is going to take all of us."
