Rep. Melanie Stansbury, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Mexico’s 1st district, has been active on social media discussing various pressing issues. Her recent tweets address environmental and economic concerns as well as everyday living costs.

On February 7, 2025, Rep. Stansbury tweeted about being denied entry to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) amidst threats and staff leave. She also mentioned alleged hacking by Elon Musk and DOGE, stating: "Today we were denied entry to @EPA as hundreds have been threatened and put on leave. And as Elon Musk & DOGE have hacked their systems." She emphasized her commitment to fighting for land and water rights through legal, legislative, and public avenues.

Later that day, she commented on economic challenges faced by Americans due to tariffs imposed by former President Trump on Canadian goods and oil. In her tweet from February 7, 2025, she questioned the rationale behind these tariffs: "Americans are struggling to pay bills and put food on the table, but Trump is placing tariffs on Canadian goods and oil." She also announced signing a letter with colleagues urging for tariff rescission.
