Business owners in Bernalillo County are reminded by Assessor Damian Lara that the deadline for submitting Business Personal Property (BPP) renditions is February 28. The BPP includes equipment used to conduct business, such as printers, cash registers, display cases, forklifts, cranes, and other machinery. This equipment is distinct from the building structure itself.
Failure to file a BPP rendition will result in a 5% penalty added to the 2025 Notice of Value and subsequent tax statement.
Assistance is available from the Office of the Assessor. Business owners can call 505-222-3750 or visit www.bernco.gov/assessor for forms available in both English and Spanish. In-person visits are welcome at 415 Silver Ave. SW, where free parking is provided at the southwest corner of 5th & Silver. Alternatively, inquiries can be emailed to BPP@bernco.gov.
