WASHINGTON—On June 14 Rep. Melanie Stansbury released the following statement to commemorate the two-year anniversary of being sworn in to represent New Mexico’s First Congressional District.  

“I’m proud and honored to fight for New Mexico in Congress each and every day. The priorities and dreams of our communities drive the work our office does. Over the last two years, I’ve introduced nine key bills for New Mexico to protect our sacred and ancestral lands, to tackle drought and climate change, and make the largest investment in early childhood education ever. In the House, I’ve secured over $33 million to address public safety and behavioral health needs, to get fentanyl off the streets, and address youth homelessness and food insecurity in New Mexico. The progress we have made together will bring us closer to a brighter future for every New Mexican. Our work for a more just, equitable, and resilient world continues.”
