The upcoming spring break promises an engaging experience for Albuquerque's younger residents. From March 17 to March 21, 2025, eighteen community centers across the city will host programs for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. These centers will organize full-day programs featuring onsite activities, budget-friendly field trips, and complimentary meals. The initiative aims to provide an enjoyable break for children while school is out, ensuring they can make new friends and create lasting memories.

Recognizing the challenges faced by working families, Mayor Tim Keller stated, “Spring break is a fun time for kids but can be stressful for working families who need that support while school is out. Our community centers offer programs that keep kids engaged during breaks; my kids can’t wait to go to the center and see their friends.”

Registration for these programs opens on March 3rd at 8 a.m. and can be completed on the website play.cabq.gov. Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The program charges a nominal fee of $10 for the week, which covers all planned activities, along with lunch and snacks.

Below is the categorization of participating community centers by their city quadrants:

Northeast: Holiday Park, Jeanne Bellamah, McKinley, Mesa Verde, Snow Park.

Northwest: Don Newton-Taylor Ranch, Los Duranes, West Mesa.

Southeast: Cesar Chavez, Dennis Chavez, Heights, Herman Sanchez, Reynaluz Juarez, Singing Arrow, Thomas Bell.

Southwest: Alamosa, Barelas, Westgate.

Families seeking more information about specific activities or capacities are encouraged to contact their local community center. Assistance is also available by calling 505-767-5800.
