Repost Bernalillo County Fire Department
Yesterday there was laughter, a little labor, and a few tears as we gathered with friends and family from the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office and City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation to install a memorial bench in honor of Capt. Matt King and the flight crew of Metro 2.
This memorial bench was placed along a trail in the Elena Gallegos Open Space area that was special to the King family. We encourage members of the public who find it to take a moment while there and reflect on what’s most important in their lives while enjoying the view. Feel free to send any pics and thoughts of your visit there back to us, and we can share it with the King or Metro 2 families. Thank you for your continued support to our families and have fun out on the trails.
