The City of Albuquerque has launched a new online system to streamline the process of filing campaign finance disclosure reports. Developed in collaboration with Civix, this platform aims to simplify the process for candidates and the community. The system is currently in use for mandatory reporting under the City’s Election Code.

City Clerk Ethan Watson commented, “We’ve been working hard to take the stress out of campaign finance. This new system is long overdue, and it gives candidates a better way to file their reports and voters a better way to track what’s going on.”

The first filing deadline under Article XIII, § 4(d)(2)(B) of the City Charter requires candidates and measure finance committees to submit their campaign finance disclosures by 5 p.m. using the new platform.

Key features of the system include step-by-step filing assistance, automatic reminders to help users meet deadlines, a public dashboard for real-time access to campaign finance data, and cloud-based accessibility without the need for downloads or installations.

Phillip Braithwaite, CEO of Civix, stated, “As states and municipalities face increasing demands and decreasing resources, technology can play a critical role, enabling officials to automate processes and improve services while strengthening security and oversight. Albuquerque’s commitment to innovation consistently places them at the forefront of digital governance. Partnering with their team is an honor.”

The system can be accessed at campaignfinance.cabq.gov and is supported by the Office of the City Clerk, which provides training materials and support services for a smooth transition. The Office oversees public records maintenance and ensures a fair public finance program by adhering to legal provisions.

Civix, a leading provider of government technology solutions, focuses on election management and ethics disclosure software. With support from HKW, Civix aims to enhance the efficiency and security of government administrations through cloud-based solutions.
