Bernalillo County – Broadline food distributor, Ben E. Keith, cut the ribbon on a new 400,000 square foot facility in the business corridor near Unser and I-40.
Ben E. Keith utilized $80 million in industrial revenue bonds (IRB) to finance land acquisition, development and construction costs for the new facility. Bernalillo County administers and oversees the IRB funding and repayment.
“This expansion by Ben E. Keith shows how business is growing in Bernalillo County,” says County Commissioner Debbie O’Malley. “This area of the county has experienced substantial growth and the expectation is the area will continue to attract quality businesses.”
Ben E. Keith is a broadline food service distribution company that offers more than 20,000 products to its customers including restaurants, hospitals, hotels, schools, country clubs, bars, and other businesses that prepare food on-site.
This project facilitates the customer’s goal of expanding its regional operations to portions of Arizona and Colorado. Ben E. Keith’s corporate headquarters are located in Fort Worth, Texas.
