More than 300 individuals gathered today at the North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center for the 50+ Senior Tech Connect Fair. The free event aimed to help older adults in Albuquerque navigate the digital landscape.

The fair was organized by the City of Albuquerque’s Department of Senior Affairs in collaboration with local nonprofit Adelante DiverseIT. Nearly 30 vendor booths and hands-on demonstrations were available, covering topics such as online shopping, Bluetooth devices, and AI.

Mayor Tim Keller highlighted the importance of the fair: “As more of our daily lives move online, it’s important we make sure no one gets left behind. This event is about giving folks the tools and know-how to stay safe and connected in an increasingly digital world.”

The event was created by the Department of Senior Affairs to improve digital access and the quality of life for Albuquerque’s older adults. Attendee Veronica Hurlbirt appreciated the initiative, stating, "This event is great for seniors because there are a lot of us who are unsure when it comes to technology. I learned about hearing aids and how phones are helping families to communicate better, and that's a wonderful thing."

Besides learning new skills, participants enjoyed refreshments, socializing, and prizes.
