The University of New Mexico's Institutional Support Services (ISS) is undergoing a rebranding process, with input from the university community being a crucial part of its transformation. ISS, responsible for essential operations such as facilities and business services, seeks to adopt a name that better represents its scope and impact.
Shawna Wolfe, Vice President of Institutional Support Services, emphasized the importance of this initiative: “The ISS mission is to truly support and develop The University experience. This rebrand allows us to better communicate our role and the value we provide to the campus and also set our intentions for our teams. We’re excited to invite the entire UNM community to be part of this transformation.”
The rebranding effort is spearheaded by the ISS Rebrand Committee, composed of various support staff members:
- Lydia Thomas, chair, marketing & communications manager
- Mary Clark, manager at the Office of Sustainability
- Alma Gaxiola, student employee in ISS Marketing & Communications
- Oliver Riggle, senior marketing representative at Residence Life & Student Housing
- Nick Royle, manager at FM Special Activities
- Teianna Mitchell, marketing representative in ISS Marketing & Communications
- Trenton Ward, senior business manager at Bookstores
- Joshua Whitman, marketing representative at PATS / ISS Marketing & Communications
This team aims to create a new identity that accurately reflects ISS’s vital role. They are actively gathering insights and feedback from faculty, staff, and students through a survey open until March 14. Participants will have a chance to win one of two $25 gift cards redeemable at UNM Bookstores or as Dining Dollars on campus.
Wolfe stated that this initiative is not just about renaming but also about reinforcing ISS's commitment to supporting UNM. Over the next year, research and stakeholder engagement will be key components of refining the new brand.
