Rose Reza, the executive director of UNM-Taos HIVE, has been recognized as a 2025 Taoseña Award honoree. She is among eight women featured in Taos News' annual Women of Impact. Her accomplishments will be highlighted in the upcoming issue of Taos Woman magazine, set to release on March 6.
This marks Reza's second major accolade following her receipt of the 2024 Business First Albuquerque Women of Influence Award. Over the past decade, she has served the Northern New Mexico community in various capacities.
Reza's leadership played a crucial role in establishing Northern New Mexico’s first tech startup incubator, UNM-Taos HIVE (Hub of Internet-Based Vocation and Education). This initiative was launched through partnerships with Kit Carson Electric Cooperative and the Taos Community Foundation. The HIVE focuses on education, entrepreneurship, and community engagement under Reza’s guidance and has become central to tech innovation and workforce development in the region.
The Taos News expressed congratulations to Reza via LinkedIn for her achievements: “Her commitment to sustainable agriculture and leadership in launching Northern NM’s first tech startup incubator make her a true trailblazer,” it stated. “With accolades like the 2024 Business First Albuquerque Women of Influence Award and being the first Latina VP at Wal-Mart, Rose's story inspires us all!”
The Taoseña Awards honor women who have significantly contributed to the Taos community. The award ceremony is scheduled for March 5 at 6 p.m., with a live stream available on both the Taos News website and Facebook page.
Reza’s acknowledgment as a Woman of Impact highlights her dedication to fostering innovation and economic growth within Taos. Her efforts continue to inspire and empower others in the community.
