The University of New Mexico is set to host the UNM Big Give on February 12, 2025. This event is a 24-hour celebration of philanthropy aimed at engaging alumni, friends, and supporters from around the world. The annual event emphasizes collective giving to support various academic, healthcare, athletic, cultural, and student programs within the university community.
Jeff Todd, president and CEO of the UNM Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “UNM Big Give opens doors of opportunity for our Lobo Community to engage with philanthropy in new and meaningful ways. This week-long build-up to UNM Big Give will spotlight our unwavering commitment to students, researchers, patients, and the broader university community.”
The event will begin at midnight on February 12 and continue for 24 hours. Participants can direct their donations to causes that matter most to them. Some highlighted funds include the Student Health and Counseling Center, UNM Grand Challenges, and Patient Care.
Supporters are encouraged to contribute by visiting unmbiggive.unmfund.org starting February 12. Donations can also be made through purchases at participating UNM Food locations or by attending special events such as the men's basketball game scheduled for that evening.
In 2024, UNM Big Give saw significant participation with 2,527 alumni and supporters worldwide surpassing the goal of 2,500 unique contributors. The initiative raised over $800,000—a record-setting amount for a single-day fundraising effort at UNM. Additionally, collaboration with UNM Athletics during Lobos Give Day contributed over $356,000 towards student-athlete scholarships.
UNM Big Give showcases the spirit of giving within the Lobo community. Alumni and friends are invited to participate on February 12 to make an impact that will benefit future generations at UNM.
