The Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center - MDC held a Holiday Toy Drive for UNM Children’s Hospital last week!
This year's Toy Drive was one of the most successful ones ever, with more than double the amount of donated new toys than in the past.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who brought gifts for this toy drive. We (and especially the kids) appreciate it!
MDC held a Holiday Toy Drive for UNM Children’s Hospital and boy did we deliver! We wanted to thank everyone who brought toys in for the holiday toy drive. This years Toy Drive was one of the most successful we’ve had, more than double the amount of donated new toys than in the past. Yesterday evening MDC Training and Recruiting Officers delivered all of the donated toys to UNM Children’s Hospital Holiday Shop with the help of the Nursing staff. We helped to fill almost half of the amount of toys in their Holiday Shop for the children. This area is the one place where the children could be children and play with toys, color, read books, and just be a kid. The medical staff were very appreciative of our generous donation. Everyone contributing a toy helped make a difference this holiday season for the children receiving long term care.
