Bernalillo County Manager Julie Morgas Baca is announcing the hiring of Jason E. Jones as the new chief of the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC).
Jones, the current warden/facility administrator of the East Hidalgo Detention Center in La Villa, Texas, about 200 miles south of San Antonio, has more than 27 years of experience at eight different facilities. Jones began his career as a correctional officer and worked his way up the ranks to warden which he has been for the past 12 years.
