Yesterday, BCSO's Metro 3 assisted APD's Open Space with the apprehension of a reckless driver on an ATV. The driver of the ATV was suspected of driving away from a traffic stop on a paved public road.
After fleeing from police, the ATV circled around and went toward the officer in a dangerous and reckless manner and fed to the Mesa; that is until Metro 3 came on the scene. BCSO's MCAT units arrived on the scene while the suspect(s) were taken into custody. It is prohibited to operate ATV's/OHV on paved roads per NM State Statute 66-3-1011.
