Bernalillo County Assessor Damian Lara recently participated as a prominent figure in a panel on Artificial Intelligence (AI) held in Florida. During the event, Lara spoke on the benefits AI offers to the public sector.
Lara presented various innovations from the Office of the Assessor, including the generative AI chatbot known as A.C.E., which is Bernalillo County’s sole tier 1 AI tool. The office also utilizes AI for commercial assessments, which increases accuracy by comparing values across different formats. Lara pointed out that these advancements allow staff to address more complex issues and interact more directly with constituents.
Lara's leadership is gaining acknowledgment for advancing assessment standards and for developing new applications and operating systems.
