West Mesa Community Center recently held its third annual community health fair, providing vital healthcare resources to over 1,000 residents of Albuquerque. Collaborating with various community organizations, healthcare providers, and local businesses, the event aimed to enhance healthcare access and promote wellness for both individuals and families in the region.

Center Supervisor Raquel Cordova commented on the event's growth: “This event started as a way to connect residents to healthcare resources. It has now grown into a fun community event where all families feel supported in fulfilling their overall health and wellness needs. I’m happy that West Mesa is a center dedicated to promoting community health and neighborhood connections.”

Community member Julius Gutierrez expressed his appreciation for the initiative, stating: “This is the place to go where resources, compassion and community unite. It’s nice to know our City provides community centers like this one, that offer such meaningful connections and safe environments.”

The fair offered a variety of services, including free CPR simulations, health resources, financial advice, educational resources, information on health screenings and vaccines, Medicaid and SNAP enrollment, as well as onsite health insurance and pharmacy services.

Mayor Tim Keller emphasized the importance of the event by saying, “We are deeply committed to ensuring that every resident has access to quality healthcare and essential services. This annual health fair allows us to connect key community organizations with hundreds of individuals and families who may otherwise struggle to find the support they need. By working together, we aim to close the gaps in healthcare access and promote a healthier Albuquerque.”
