Mayor Tim Keller, alongside First Lady Elizabeth Kistin Keller and the One ABQ Volunteers Advisory Board, is set to celebrate the tenth annual Mayor’s Day of Volunteer Recognition. This event is scheduled for Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Albuquerque Museum.
The event acknowledges an impressive range of volunteer efforts from the previous year. Contributions include providing music education and instruments to youth, spending quality time with seniors, and supporting the unhoused. Notably, one volunteer has extended support to the National Museum of Nuclear Science and the American Lung Association for several decades, while another contributed to 11 organizations in just one year.
Residents interested in attending the event, which is free of charge, are invited to register online.
"Mayor Tim Keller expressed, "Liz and I look forward to sharing this celebration with the awardees each year. The tremendous heart and leadership demonstrated by these volunteers inspires others in our community to take action and be of service.”
Event Chair Vaisu Bronk remarked, "Volunteers are the heart of our community. On April 11, we’ll celebrate those who go above and beyond, but we also honor the collective spirit of every volunteer whose dedication strengthens our city and enriches the lives of others each and every day."
Board Chair Miriam McIntosh noted, “This event brings together representatives from the volunteer community like no other. It’s a pleasure to be able to uplift these awardees and support the many dedicated volunteers, friends, family, and colleagues who attend."
Serve New Mexico Commission Executive Director Kristin Hsueh stated, “The Serve New Mexico Commission is proud to be a sponsor of the Mayors Day of Volunteer Recognition and to recognize the important role of volunteers within our communities and, in particular, highlight the impact of National Service within New Mexico.”
