Bernalillo County Animal Care Services has partnered with PetSmart Charities to participate in National Adoption Week, which runs from March 24 to March 30, 2025. The event aims to encourage the community to adopt pets during this weeklong initiative.
PetSmart Charities has provided a $15,000 grant to Bernalillo County Animal Care Services. This funding will be used for veterinary care, staffing, sheltering, supplies, marketing, and technology to facilitate pet adoptions.
Pets will be available for adoption at two PetSmart locations in Albuquerque as part of the National Adoption Week activities organized by PetSmart Charities. The objective is to find homes for at least 20 pets during the event.
PetSmart Charities connects local adoption partners with its stores to host adoption events and meet-and-greet sessions. Available pets include various ages, breeds, and energy levels. Staff and volunteers will assist in matching pets with adopters based on lifestyle preferences such as energy levels and personalities.
