Rep. Melanie Stansbury, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Mexico's 1st district, has been vocal on social media regarding recent events in the House of Representatives and broader political issues. Stansbury, who succeeded Deb Haaland in 2021, has used her platform to address significant developments affecting national governance.

On March 6, 2025, Rep. Stansbury commented on the disruption of the live feed from the House of Representatives following a censure against Rep. Al Greene. She noted that this action was taken after Greene spoke out against proposed Medicaid cuts during a Joint Address. Stansbury provided further details in her tweet: "Friends if you are trying to watch the House of Representatives right now, you’ll see that the live feed is down after they censured Rep Al Greene for speaking out at the Joint Address against cuts to Medicaid."

Later that day, Stansbury addressed an invitation extended by GOP members to Elon Musk for discussions with Congress. This invitation followed concerns over Musk's actions involving agency dismantling, fund freezing, and federal worker dismissals. Her tweet read: "Yesterday, Elon Musk was asked by the GOP to come meet with members of Congress because, just like all of you out there, they are deeply upset by what he was doing."

In another post on March 6th, Stansbury urged Americans to remain resilient and active amidst ongoing political challenges. She encouraged public engagement through various forms of advocacy and collective action: "America, we must continue to be courageous—because what is happening right now is not normal."
