Bernalillo County Commission Chair Eric Olivas issued a statement concerning a closed litigation meeting that took place during Tuesday night's commission meeting. The meeting addressed an issue involving a potential violation of the County Code of Conduct.
According to Section 2-137 of the Bernalillo County Code of Conduct, "No former elected official shall accept or enter into any arrangement or agreement for remuneration with the county for consultant work, part-time or full-time employment in any capacity for a period of 12 months from and after leaving office."
The matter is currently under review by the Bernalillo County Code of Conduct Review Board, which will make a determination on the complaint and report its decision back to the commission.
