Bernalillo County Animal Care Services, in collaboration with Animal Balance and 76 community volunteers, organized a spay and neuter clinic over the weekend. The event successfully provided spaying and neutering for 247 animals. Additionally, 188 microchips, 186 rabies vaccines, 67 canine distemper/parvo vaccines, and 80 feline vaccines were administered at no cost to pet owners.

Animal Care Services has reported a significant increase in animal intake since its opening in 2019, with a rise of 62%. This underscores the need for expanded facilities and resources such as spay and neuter clinics.
