The City Council has announced the publication of Council Bill No. O-24-59, sponsored by Tammy Fiebelkorn. The bill aims to amend the Uniform Housing Code to include a requirement for cooling systems.

This ordinance, now enacted as O-2024-047, represents an effort to address housing standards in relation to climate control within residences. The proposed changes highlight a focus on ensuring that housing accommodations meet certain criteria for occupant comfort and safety.

The move comes amid growing discussions about housing quality and environmental standards in urban planning.
