Bernalillo County swears in new officials and judges

Today, Bernalillo County in New Mexico held a ceremony to swear in newly elected officials and judges at the county headquarters in Alvarado Square. The event signified the start of new terms for several county officials and judges from both the Second Judicial District Court and Metropolitan Court.

The officials who took their oaths included District 4 Commissioner Walt Benson, District 2 Commissioner Frank Baca, District 3 Commissioner Adriann Barboa, County Clerk Michelle Kavanaugh, and County Treasurer Tim Eichenberg. Each pledged to serve the residents of Bernalillo County with dedication.

Additionally, newly elected judges were sworn into their positions. Judge Cindy Leos and Judge David A. Murphy joined as district court judges. In the metropolitan court, Judge Asra I. Elliott, Judge Renee Torres, Judge Rosemary Cosgrove-Aguilar, Judge Yvette K. Gonzales, Judge Shonetta R. Estrada, and Judge Michelle Castillo Dowler also took their oaths.

The ceremony was attended by family members, friends, supporters of the elected officials, and community members.
