An investigation has been initiated following the mistaken release of an inmate from the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC). The incident occurred on Tuesday, and authorities are currently looking into how this error transpired.
The inmate in question, whose identity has not been disclosed at this time, was initially booked into MDC on April 4, 2024. Prior to his transfer to MDC, he was held by the Federal Bureau of Prisons in California. He was brought to Bernalillo County to face trial for several charges, including murder.
