Members of Albuquerque's older adult community gathered for the Annual Thanksgiving Day Luncheon at the North Valley Senior Center, hosted by Mayor Tim Keller and the Department of Senior Affairs. The event offered a traditional Thanksgiving meal, along with an opportunity for community members to connect.

Mayor Tim Keller expressed his appreciation for the city's older adults, stating, “We’re always grateful for the opportunity to show our appreciation for Albuquerque’s older adult community. Today’s Thanksgiving celebration reminds us how important it is to stay connected and express gratitude for one another; during the holiday season, but also year round.”

Attendees enjoyed live music and socialized with fellow guests. Nearly 150 people participated in this cherished tradition organized by the Department of Senior Affairs.

Anna Sanchez, Director of Senior Affairs, shared her thoughts on the event: “Our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon is one of my favorite events that we host because of the wonderful way it brings our community together. Sharing food, laughter, and stories reminds us all what the holiday season is truly about.”

The City of Albuquerque’s Department of Senior Affairs continues its commitment to providing resources and opportunities that help seniors stay engaged as they age. Further information can be found at https://www.cabq.gov/seniors.
