Thanksgiving ride program offers safe travel options in New Mexico counties

The "Take A Ride On Us" program returns for Thanksgiving 2024, offering residents in Bernalillo, Sandoval, and Santa Fe counties a safe transportation option during the holiday weekend. The initiative is available from 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, through 2 a.m. on Monday, December 2. Residents can access the offer by opening the Uber app and entering the code NMTURKEY24 under the "Vouchers" section to receive up to $10 off two rides. The program is limited to 2,500 trips on a first-come, first-served basis.

The discount applies solely to rides and does not include Uber Eats or driver tips. Users can access the voucher directly through the Uber app.

This program is a joint effort involving Cumulus Media Albuquerque, Bernalillo County Department of Behavioral Health Services, Sandoval County DWI Prevention, Santa Fe County DWI Program, Glasheen Valles and Inderman Injury Lawyers, Sandia Resort & Casino, and the New Mexico Department of Transportation. The goal is to minimize incidents of driving under the influence during Thanksgiving festivities.

Since its launch in summer 2017, "Take A Ride On Us" has provided over 52,000 safe rides to residents in the Albuquerque Metro area. Bernalillo County supports this important initiative with an annual contribution funded through liquor excise taxes.
