Representative Melanie Stansbury, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for New Mexico’s 1st district, shared a series of tweets on November 25 and 26, 2024, addressing issues of equality, addiction support, and public service dedication.

On November 25, Stansbury emphasized the importance of equality with her statement: "Everyone deserves the same rights, privileges, and respect regardless of their gender or skin color. These principles should remain true for every American, no matter who is in office."

Later that day, she addressed community challenges related to addiction by announcing funding for a new facility: "Our communities are suffering. Addiction doesn’t care who you are or where you live—our people need help. I am proud to have secured $2.2 million to fund New Mexico’s first medical sobering center in Albuquerque at the Gateway Center. This facility will save lives!"

On November 26, Stansbury paid tribute to a fellow public servant: "Rep. Alcon has selflessly dedicated his life to public service as a Veteran, a Judge, a State Legislator, and as a uranium miner who knows firsthand the impacts on our communities. A dear friend and fellow fighter for New Mexico—you be so missed from the #NMLeg!"
