The Albuquerque Police Department recently conducted a focused operation targeting fentanyl-related activities along east Central Avenue. Over the course of two days, 109 arrests were made, with many involving charges related to the use or sale of fentanyl.
The department's Problem Response Team (PRT) officers and narcotics detectives played a significant role in this effort, making 47 arrests. Of these, 32 involved possession of a controlled substance. The operation's overall results included:
- 147 on-site generated calls
- 109 total arrests and warrants cleared
- 47 felony and misdemeanor arrests
- 62 felony and misdemeanor warrants cleared
- One firearm recovered
- Ten traffic citations issued
Narcotics detectives arrested four individuals on trafficking charges. These individuals include Jeremiah Bainbridge, Daniella Mills, Kyle Patrick McGovern—who was charged with trafficking meth—and Georgia Herron.
In collaboration with federal agencies, APD's Narcotics unit has also been active in recent weeks. They have made two significant arrests involving large quantities of fentanyl. In one case alone, more than 20,000 fentanyl pills were seized. However, details regarding these cases remain confidential due to ongoing federal investigations.
Additionally, APD’s GANGS team conducted an independent operation along Central Avenue that resulted in the seizure of 6,000 fentanyl pills from a vehicle following a search warrant execution after it fled from a traffic stop.
