The Albuquerque Police Department has charged Kevin Geier and Toure Britt in connection with the 2018 homicide of Adrian Johnson.

On March 16, 2018, officers responded to a homicide at 2600 Americare Court NW. Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots and saw a Ford Excursion with Chihuahua license plates leave the area. A male, later identified as Adrian Johnson, 42, was found with a gunshot wound and pronounced deceased.

Two days later, on March 18, Rio Rancho police were called to a vehicle fire on the far west end of Southern near the sand dunes. The vehicle fire was believed to be related to the homicide.

Investigators believe that Johnson went to Americare in a stolen Excursion to find a man who was also dating his girlfriend. Britt and Geier accompanied Johnson ostensibly to support him regarding the issue with this other man. However, investigators allege that Britt and Geier planned to rob and kill Johnson.

On September 27, University Proactive Response Officers arrested Toure Britt. Kevin Geier is currently in custody in Arizona.

Both men have been charged with first-degree murder.
