The city is set to host a series of Pride events starting Monday, June 3, 2024. The festivities kick off with Silverfest, an all-ages event celebrating the 55+ community with food, games, karaoke, and entertainment at The Orpheum Community Hub.
On Tuesday, June 4, Kids Fest will celebrate youth with similar activities at the same venue.
Wednesday, June 5 marks She + Fest, an event exclusively for those aged 21 and over. This celebration of femininity includes performances, poetry readings, and educational activities.
A Pride Memorial Candlelight Vigil is scheduled for Thursday, June 6 at Morningside Park. The vigil will feature speeches from community members and titleholders in remembrance of lost loved ones.
Mayor Tim Keller will commemorate Pride Month by raising the flag at Civic Plaza on Friday morning. Later that day, Prefest will take place at Balloon Fiesta Park with music, exhibitions, food stalls, and more.
Saturday's Albuquerque Pride Parade begins at Central and Gerard Streets and proceeds to Central and San Mateo. Following the parade is a Family Pride Celebration at Morningside Park featuring carnival-themed activities. Additionally, New Mexico Pride Fest will be held at Balloon Fiesta Park with music performances and a nighttime balloon glow.
Sunday concludes the weekend events with a BIPOC Brunch celebrating Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities.
On Wednesday, June 12 there will be a webinar titled "Navigating Intersectional Challenges: Supporting Two-Spirit Survivors Amidst COVID-19 & Housing Insecurity." This session aims to address challenges faced by Two-Spirit survivors during overlapping crises through practical insights and culturally responsive solutions.
