Meet Bernalillo County Public Art Program's featured artist, Valerie Roybal!
Born in Santa Fe and later a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Valerie's impact within the local community was widespread. Her search for eclectic items found outdoors, in flea markets and antique shops allowed her to introduce a variety of materials in her work.
Valerie Roybal received the Pollock-Krasner award in 2015 and exhibited her work at Columbia College Center for Book and Paper Arts in Chicago, the Albuquerque Museum, Richard Levy Gallery, and Tamarind Institute.
In 2017, Bernalillo County acquired two of Valerie's works as part of the permanent public art collection, "Moonrings" and “Space is the Place."
Bernalillo County invites you to view her artwork in person by visiting Bernalillo County @ Alvarado Square located on the first floor of 415 Silver Avenue SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
