The Bernalillo County Commission approved an ordinance to establish an automated speed enforcement program to discourage speeding on public roads in the county.
The ordinance is modeled after a similar program adopted recently by the City of Albuquerque where its use of speed cameras has reduced the average rate of speed on dangerous roads while significantly decreasing the number of high-speed violations.
