BERNALILLO COUNTY: Government Agencies Collaborate for COVID-19 Positive Behavioral Health Patients

Healthrecap

Bernalillo County issued the following announcement on Dec. 21.

Bernalillo County, the City of Albuquerque, and the State Behavioral Health Services Division are working collaboratively with Central Desert Behavioral Health Hospital to improve access to behavioral health services for residents who have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). The city and county have each committed $100,000 of CARES funds to cover costs through Dec. 30 and the State has committed $200,000 to cover costs after Dec. 31.

Central Desert is accepting COVID-19 positive referrals for this support and will provide psychiatric services, including assessments to clients admitted, until a lower level of care placement is appropriate and has been established. Referrals from licensed behavioral health providers are accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by contacting Central Desert Behavioral Health Hospital at 505-259-5118.
