Bernalillo County issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.
Bernalillo County Treasurer Nancy M. Bearce announced the 2020 fiscal year (FY20) fourth quarter and annual results on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at the County Board of Finance meeting.
Treasurer Bearce presented the operations and investment results to the board and the public at large. The Board of Finance meets quarterly at the Vincent E. Griego Chambers at One Civic Plaza, however due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Board of Finance meeting was held via ZOOM and was available for live stream on YouTube. Highlights of the fourth quarter include:
- The Treasurer’s Office collected 96.84% of 2019 property taxes
- Investment income was nearly $9.5 million a slight decrease from last year, due to the economy
- The 2020 investment policy was presented by the treasurer to the board
“Fiscal year 2020 finished off strong despite the impact the coronavirus (COVID-19) closures brought to the third and fourth quarters,” says County Treasurer Nancy Bearce. “Bernalillo County Treasurer’s Office is committed to serving our taxpayers in the best way possible, and our strong fourth quarter results reaffirm that commitment.”
