Bernalillo County issued the following announcement on July 27.
Bernalillo County restaurants, outside the city limits of Albuquerque, who operate outdoor dining facilities can apply for grants up to $10,000 beginning Tuesday, July 28 at 8 a.m.
This is any restaurant, as long as it is outside of the City of Albuquerque limits.
Restaurants, cafes, wineries, and breweries that are permitted to serve food by the Bernalillo County Environmental Health Department, who are located outside the boundaries of the City of Albuquerque, are eligible to apply for an outdoor dining permit(s), and for corresponding grant awards. Entrants must meet the following qualifications:
· A physical place of business located outside the boundaries of the City of Albuquerque
· Current Bernalillo County business license
· Current Bernalillo County food establishment food permit
· Current application for State of New Mexico temporary change/expansion of liquor licensed premises
Required Documents:
· Current Bernalillo County business license
· Current food establishment food permit
· If organization serves alcohol, copy of application for temporary change/expansion of liquor licensed premises (Issued by the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department)
The link to the application will be available Tuesday, July 28 at 8 a.m. at www.bernco.gov and will be accepted until the close of business on Aug. 4 or until applications exceed the total grant funding of $200,000.
The application can be printed and mailed along with the appropriate documentation. Grants will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications will be available in both English and Spanish.
Once the online application process has begun, it cannot be saved. If an applicant exits the application process before submitting, the process will begin again when the applicant clicks the link. Once the form is complete and the documents are attached, applicants will click on the submit button and the application is complete. Applications cannot be accessed again once they are submitted.
Regardless of whether a business is eligible for this program, it may still qualify for other existing assistance programs.
