Norovirus outbreaks double; RSV cases rise as flu and COVID decline

Norovirus cases are increasing in New Mexico and across the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 557 norovirus outbreaks nationwide last year, but this year, the number has almost doubled to 1,078.

Other illnesses such as Influenza, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and COVID-19 are also present in communities during this winter season. According to the TriCore Infectious Disease Dashboard, RSV cases have risen this week, while flu and COVID-19 cases show a downward trend.
