In addition to welcoming remarks from head football coach Bronco Mendenhall and head men’s basketball coach Richard Pitino, Chris Del Conte from the University of Texas praised Lovo as a leader whose integrity is second to none.
Lovo holds degrees from the University of Florida in political science and government as well as sport management. He will be joined in Albuquerque by his wife Jordan and their two children.
President Stokes also acknowledged Dave Williams for serving as interim vice president during a transitional period following Eddie Nuñez’s departure. A formal press conference introducing Fernando Lovo will be scheduled soon.
