Kirtland Air Force Base seeks permit for backup generator installation

Kirtland Air Force Base has submitted an application for an air quality construction permit to install a diesel-fired emergency generator at the Space Development Agency Optical Ground Entry Point facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The generator is intended to provide backup power in case of primary power failure.

The public comment period for this application begins on November 22, 2024, and will conclude on December 22, 2024. A decision regarding the permit is expected by February 20, 2025.
