Effective immediately, Bernalillo County's Tiny Home Village in Albuquerque will process new applications through referrals from community providers. This change aims to streamline access for eligible individuals and involve trusted community partners in the process.

The Tiny Home Village, situated at 101 Texas Street SE in Albuquerque’s International District, offers housing for 18 to 24 months in a supportive environment. Residents live in individual tiny homes with shared facilities such as bathrooms, showers, a kitchen, and a common house. They also receive wraparound services including case management to help them work toward personal goals and transition to permanent housing.

Under the new referral system, community providers can submit applications for eligible clients. Currently, two homes are available. When full capacity is reached, referrals will be placed on a waitlist and selected by lottery as openings occur.

"This referral-based model strengthens our partnerships with community providers and allows us to prioritize residents who are ready to engage with the support and services available," stated Wayne Lindstrom, deputy county manager for Behavioral Health. "We ask that our community providers continue supporting clients on the waiting list, as this ongoing guidance is essential to their progress and readiness for transitional and eventually permanent housing."

Tiny Home Village provides temporary residences and supportive services to unhoused adults in Bernalillo County. The program encourages residents to build community, pursue personal development, and work toward permanent housing with individualized support through case management. The village comprises 30 tiny homes along with common facilities designed to foster a sense of community and shared responsibility.

Applicants must meet specific criteria outlined on the Tiny Home Village homepage. Applications must be submitted online by community providers during open application windows announced on the homepage. For further information on eligibility and referrals, visit the homepage or call 505-225-4780.
