For the third consecutive year, the University of New Mexico (UNM) has recognized four individuals with the ACE Awards. These awards highlight their commitment to fostering an ethical and compliant work and learning environment at UNM. The awards were presented during Compliance Week 2024, held from November 4 to November 8.

This year's honorees include Adrienne Helms, who serves as the Clery Coordinator in the Office of Compliance Ethics & Equal Opportunity. Since joining UNM in February 2022, Helms has focused on enhancing UNM's Clery program. Her career began in urban planning, and she later worked as a crime prevention specialist and public information officer. Helms is also involved in various campus safety initiatives.

Kate Davis, another award recipient, is the director of the Office for Academic Personnel at UNM. With a Master's degree in Organizational Management and Development, Davis has been part of UNM since June 2019. She transitioned to her current role in October 2021 and was promoted to director in June 2024.

Jessica Hermosillo serves as the facility security officer within Industrial Security – Provost’s office at UNM. Before joining UNM in early 2022, Hermosillo spent over two decades working with defense contractors in Albuquerque. She chairs the NCMS Enchantment Chapter and participates actively on several committees related to health and safety at UNM.

Laura Burton, Ph.D., is acknowledged for her role as associate director of Business Operations for the UNM Health Sciences Rio Rancho Campus. Burton played a significant part in transitioning this campus towards health sciences education since 2018. She has developed programs aimed at addressing workforce shortages and inspiring students to pursue careers in health.

The contributions of these individuals underscore their dedication to advancing compliance and ethics within the university setting.
