Meet Bernalillo County Public Art Program's featured artist, David Vedoe. David Vedoe has been making art in Taos, New Mexico, for nearly 29 years. Pulling from his master’s degree education at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he has been able to design and create murals, teach the public, and transform lives with his work. In addition to co-founding the Taos Art Organization with John Staple and Bren Price, Vedoe continues to create custom murals and architectural projects.Bernalillo County recently acquired David Vedoe’s “Animallegory I” work through the Unsolicited Proposal Process in the spring of 2022. This piece was inspired by the choices and priorities individuals make regarding food in their lives – whether a carnivore, vegetarian or vegan; moreover, “Animallegory I” pays homage to those who work tirelessly to provide the products we consume.
