Bernalillo County Manager Julie Morgas Baca introduced new Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center - MDC Chief Jason Jones at the County Commission meeting Tuesday night.
Jones was the warden/facility administrator of the East Hidalgo Detention Center in La Villa, Texas, about 200 miles south of San Antonio. He comes with more than 27 years of experience at eight different facilities. Jones began his career as a correctional officer and worked his way up the ranks to warden, which he has been for the past 12 years.
Jones’ first day on the job was Tuesday, Oct. 25.
