The New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) has awarded $790,801 to 45 communities through the New Mexico Clean and Beautiful Grant Program for fiscal year 2023. Bernalillo County received $18,000 to be used for education on recycling and waste reduction at community events and various sources of outreach.
Bernalillo County aims to educate and increase recycling participation from residents through a Keep Bernalillo County Beautiful campaign. This initiative will encourage behavior change and educate the community about existing disposal and recycling options. In addition to the Keep Bernalillo County Beautiful campaign, the county will offer waste education stations at various communities and signature special events.
