Head to the Gutiérrez-Hubbell House Alliance tonight for the opening reception of Fiestas in Our Mountain Villages: Place-Based History by Children from 5 - 7 p.m.!
Meet the curators, create artwork inspired by the exhibit, enjoy nostalgic snacks, and tour the exhibit in this drop-in reception.
Fiestas in Our Mountain Villages: Place-Based History by Children brings to life a 1955 community history project by students from East Mountains schools. Through drawings, interviews, narrative, recipes, and more, students told the story of their own fiestas and dances, documenting their world from their own perspective.
Come see it for yourself! Although the exhibit just debuted, it will be on view through September 24, 2022. The museum is open and free to the public Thursday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
