70 percent of applicants to the University of New Mexico-Main Campus were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of New Mexico-Main Campus, 76 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Albuquerque enrolled 24,319 students in fall 2018, including 18,621 in undergraduate and 5,698 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

83 percent of undergraduates are residents of New Mexico, and 14 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (48 percent) and white (32 percent).

The school admitted 70 percent of the 10,582 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 36 percent enrolled.
