As heavy rains and flash flood warnings persist in Northern New Mexico, the New Mexico National Guard has requested sandbags to prepare for the storms. This evening, the City of Albuquerque's Office of Emergency Management (OEM) dispatched 12,500 sandbags to support emergency responders in the affected area. The OEM-led effort was facilitated by contributions from the Solid Waste Department and Albuquerque Community Safety.
