PNM has indicated that it is unlikely to implement a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in the East Mountains today, March 18. However, Bernalillo County advises residents to remain vigilant as fire risks and weather-related outages continue to be a concern across the county.

Although red flag warnings are still in effect, PNM has made adjustments to its system settings. These changes make the system more sensitive to vegetation and debris that might come into contact with electrical equipment. As a result, power restoration times could be extended due to the need for manual inspections and repairs aimed at ensuring system safety.

Residents seeking more information on the Public Safety Power Shutoff and how to prepare for outages can visit www.pnm.com/wildfire-safety. For updates regarding Bernalillo County services, individuals are encouraged to visit www.bernco.gov or follow BernCo on social media.
