The Albuquerque Police Department completed a successful warrant roundup operation resulting in 70 felony warrant arrests, the recovery of a stolen vehicle, and the location of a missing juvenile.

During the week of July 15-19, officers from the Field Services Bureau targeted the Central corridor from Tramway in the Foothills Area Command to 98th Street in the Southwest Area Command. Officers were specifically looking for individuals with active felony warrants.

The five-day operation resulted in:

Felony Warrants Cleared: 70

Felony Arrests: 54

Misdemeanor Warrants Cleared: 35

Misdemeanor Arrests: 29

Citations: 20

Summons: 7

Traffic Citations: 13

Stolen vehicles recovered: 1

Missing Juvenile located: 1

During the operation, Southwest PRT officers arrested Henderson Burke, who has been wanted by the United States Marshals and has evaded arrest for the last six years.

On July 17, a Southwest PRT officer observed Burke trespassing on a property located at 5820 Central Avenue S.E. The officer made contact with Burke and learned his history of being on the run and that he was wanted on multiple felony warrants.

Burke was arrested on a federal warrant for Violation of Federal Probation and Failure to Comply as a Registered Sex Offender in New Mexico (original charge, Aggravated Sexual Contact of a Minor).

Video from the operations can be found on APD’s Instagram account.
