Construction will begin this week on a new signalized intersection at Gibson Blvd. and Maxwell in Albuquerque. Maxwell is located east of Carlisle and near the City’s Puerto del Sol golf course.

The project aims to add a new traffic light in preparation for a planned mixed-use development south of Gibson off Maxwell. Construction is expected to last 90 days, starting with the closure of one outside lane on Gibson.

The Department of Municipal Development (DMD) oversees this project. The DMD is responsible for engineering, building, and maintaining Albuquerque’s roads and storm drains, as well as designing and constructing city facilities such as community centers, libraries, and community safety facilities.
